WEST Coast defender Will Schofield has signed a three-year contract extension with the club.
The new deal will see the 24-year-old remain with the Eagles until at least the end of 2016.
Schofield has become an important part of West Coast's backline, alongside his captain Darren Glass and fellow rebounding defender Shannon Hurn.
"It's pretty exciting to extend my contract," Schofield said.
"I have been here for six years already, so Perth and the West Coast Eagles have been a big part of my life.
"Everyone is aware I had a tough year personally in 2012 and the easy decision would have been to go home to family and friends. The club was great to me at that time and I really appreciated the support.
"I can't imagine playing anywhere else and everyone at the club is pretty excited about the future. I am keen to be a part of the next West Coast team that achieves the ultimate success and we all believe that is achievable in the near future."Schofield has played 78 games for the Eagles since being drafted from Victoria at the end of 2006.
West Coast list and contracts manager Craig Vozzo said Schofield was in coach John Worsfold's immediate and long-term plans.
"He has developed into a strong rebounding defensive player who has already had a strong impact and we expect him to be even more influential in the coming years," Vozzo said.
