MELBOURNE coach Mark Neeld refused to reveal whether he had any knowledge of the club's supplement program, which led to club doctor Dan Bates standing down on Friday.

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority and the AFL have launched an investigation after allegations Bates and sports scientist Stephen Dank exchanged text messages that revealed the treatments and names of Melbourne players involved in the program.

Melbourne had previously told the AFL it had no dealings with Dank.

"I did not see those text messages. I didn't see the 7.30 Report," Neeld said after yesterday's win against Greater Western Sydney.

Asked if he knew about the supplement program, Neeld said: "I am confident in the club's processes and let's support the investigation and let's have an investigation. I think it will take quite a considerable length of time."

Neeld said football manager Josh Mahoney and director of sports performance Neil Craig had spoken to players for about five minutes and given them a summary of what was happening.
