AFTER a slow start, Port Adelaide has fought back to dominate the second half and beat the GWS Giants by 56 points in the John McCarthy tribute match at AAMI Stadium.

Full forward Jay Schultz put the Power in front in the second quarter after marking a bullet-like pass from onballer Chad Wingard, followed by another quick goal from Matthew Broadbent.

Utility Justin Westhoff also took a spectacular grab to lift the side, which he converted for a goal.

The domination continued after half-time, with busy Wingard and Westhoff both scoring majors. At the three-quarter time, Power led by 32 points.

The Power's slow start came after an emotional pre-game tribute to the late John McCarthy.
